From the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal:
Deputy State Fire Marshals have charged Jerry W. Williams, Jr. (34) for ordering two vehicles burned that belonged to him. An exhaustive investigation lasting over two years was brought before the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Grand Jury. An indictment was found against Williams and an arrest warrant was issued for Arson 1st Degree, Arson 2nd Degree and two counts of Malicious Burning with intent to Defraud.
The incident occurred on October 13, 2008 at approximately 2:51 a.m. on William’s property located in the 2200 block of Choate Road in Fallston. Investigators determined at that time the 1984 Winnebago RV and the 2006 Ford King Rancher pickup had been intentionally set on fire. During the continuing investigation it was determined William’s had acquired assistance from two suspects with burning his vehicles. Charges are pending for the other two involved with the incident.
Williams was arrested without incident at his home today with the assistance of the Maryland State Police. He was transported to the Harford County Detention Center and is currently being held on a $50,000 bond. If convicted of the charges Williams faces penalties of up to 60 years imprisonment and/or $90,000 in fines.
