From the City of Havre de Grace Office of Tourism:
The City of Havre de Grace announces the release of its new tourism brochure for 2011. Coordinated by Tourism and Marketing Manager, Brigitte Peters, the brochure includes a calendar of events, lists of attractions, area lodging, dining facilities and a locator map. “The Council and I are thrilled with this new brochure!” said Mayor Wayne Dougherty. “It is a piece that shows the partnerships with our attractions, businesses, and is a useful tool to market our City. It will promote Havre de Grace in a big way! We are very pleased with the hard work and creativity that Brigitte put into this project.”
In 2009 the Destination Guide won the Best Printed Promotional Piece through the Maryland Tourism Council’s Governors Conference. The guide continues to be a creative and attractive tribute to Havre de Grace. The cover was created to highlight the beauty and recreational appeal of Havre de Grace. The talented eye of photographer Richard Mayhew contributed the cover shot that captures our Destination of Discovery. The addition of the kayak from photographer and artist Tom Artificer of White Rabbet Gallery in HdG blended the recreation to be experienced. The cooperative partnership with the businesses that are featured in the guide creates a strong impact to a visitor friendly brochure.
Fifty thousand brochures were printed and will be distributed widely. Every welcome center and visitor’s bureau in the state of Maryland will distribute the new promotional piece. Additionally, the brochure has been sent throughout Harford County, Baltimore County and reaches into Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Guides are also directly mailed to hundreds of the Office of Tourism group travel contacts across the United States. The brochure is available at the Havre de Grace Visitor Center at 450 Pennington Avenue or by calling 1-800-851-7756.
