Harford County Board of Education Jan. 24: School Budget Vote, Hall of Fame Inductees, Advanced Placement Teacher of the Year

A vote on next year’s school budget, rescheduled from last week due to the weather, dominates the January 24 agenda of the Harford County Board of Education. Also under consideration will be FY12 budget amendments to reflect a net increase in grant funding in the amount of $1,536,156. The funds are to be used for school based employee healthcare expenditures, in accordance with the provisions of the federal Education Jobs Fund grant.

Also on the agenda are the induction of Ms. Charlsie Harkins Brooks and Mr. Charles E. Harkins into the HCPS Hall of Fame; recognition of Mr. Peter Griffiths, Advanced Placement Teacher of the Year, and a Governor’s citation for superior maintenance of schools.

A board policy review committee meeting will precede the board business meeting. The agendas for both meetings appear below:
