A Whiteford Fire Company firefighter sustained minor burns in a Thursday afternoon blaze which ripped through a Whiteford home.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, firefighter Wesley Roberts sustained minor burns to the face. He was treated at a local hospital and released.
Roberts was among 60 firefighters who battled a fire at a home on the 1600 block of Deep Run Road in Whiteford. The fire was reported at approximately 1:46 p.m. by homeowners Brian and Denise Ralph. Members of the Whiteford, Darlington, Bel Air, Level, York County, and Fawn Grove fire companies responded, extinguished the blaze in about 90 minutes.
The blaze caused an estimated $300,000 in damage to the home and an additional $200,000 in damage to its contents, according to the Fire Marshal’s Office.
The fire’s area of origin and cause remain under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the State Fire Marshal’s Bel Air Office at 410-836-4844.
