Sen. Glassman Appointed to Open Space/Preservation, Unemployment Insurance, Fair Practice Committees

From the office of Sen. Barry Glassman:

Northern Harford County State Senator Barry Glassman (35) has recently been appointed to join the Joint Committee on Fair Practice and State Personnel Oversight, as well as the Joint Sub Committee on Program Open Space/ Agricultural Land Preservation and the Joint Committee on Unemployment Insurance Oversight. Senator Glassman also serves on the Finance Committee.

While on the Joint Committee on Fair Practice and State Personnel Oversight, Glassman will oversee reviews, evaluations and make recommendations on equal opportunity policies and practices. In addition he will also oversee the State employment policies and personnel systems within the Executive Branch, including State Personnel Management System, the Human Resources Management System of the Department of Transportation, and the personnel systems of the State’s institutions of higher education.

Being appointed to the Joint Sub Committee on Program Open Space/ Agricultural Land Preservation, Senator Glassman will be monitoring the Program Open Space and the Agricultural Land Preservation Program.

Further as a member of the Joint Committee on Unemployment Insurance Oversight the Senator will partake in the monitoring of the state’s unemployment system, and analyze whether changes to the system are necessary to maintain fairness.
