Harford Schools Superintendent Robert M. Tomback will unveil his recommended FY12 operating budget to the Harford County Board of Education at a scheduled board business meeting on Monday, December 20, according to a published meeting agenda.
Following this first step in the months-long budget process, the school board will hold public hearings and consider possible amendments before adopting a budget proposal for further consideration by funding authorities.
Last year’s budget process was a contentious one, as a potential 2% salary cut for all HCPS employees – embedded throughout the 500-page budget document, but not otherwise disclosed by HCPS until it was discovered by The Dagger – drew angry employees to public hearings. The salary cuts were later restored.

speaking of the Superintendant did anyone catch the article regarding his threats of teacher layoffs and building shut downs if teacher pensions are dumped on the county by the state.
