Introducing the Volunteer Harford Reward Card

Harford County Department of Community Services Volunteer Harford is proud to announce the launch of the Volunteer Harford Reward Card Program. Because area non-profits rely so heavily, and sometimes solely, on their volunteers, combined with widespread funding cuts to these organizations, Volunteer Harford wanted to find a way to help these organizations thank their volunteers.

The Reward Card is a free way for area non-profit organizations and government agencies to give back to their volunteers and features special discounts at more than 20 area businesses offered in websites like Raise, shops and restaurants, only available to card holders. The Reward Cards are valid from January 1, 2011 thru December 31, 2011 and can be obtained only from Volunteer Harford.

The Reward Cards are available only to non-profit organizations and government agencies currently posting volunteer opportunities on the Volunteer Harford website (www.volunteerharford.org); those interested in applying for the Reward Card should fill out and submit an application by Thursday, December 30, 2010. Applications are available at http://www.harfordcountymd.gov/services/community/doc/1535.pdf. The number of Reward Cards distributed will be based on availability.

Organizations/agencies interested in posting their volunteer opportunities on the Volunteer Harford website should contact Jen Davis for a Volunteer Request Form.

Participating Reward Card vendors include Bill Bateman’s, Box Hill Pizzeria- Crabcake, Classic Image Salon, David’s Natural Market, Enotria, Fallston Diner, Il Forno Della Nonna, Lavalier, Liberatore’s Ristorante, Looney’s Pub, Main Street Tower, Mamie’s Café, MaGerk’s Pub, McShanes Gourmet, The Olive Tree, The Open Door Café, Pairings Bistro, Quizno’s TCBY, Tidewater Grille and Zen 16.

Volunteers interested in getting a Volunteer Harford Reward Card should check to determine if their organization/agency is participating in the Reward Card Program and encourage them to submit an application to Volunteer Harford by December 30.
