The Harford County Office of Economic Developing is sponsoring the first brownbag lunch networking session of the Harford County Green Business Network. The networking session will be held in the second floor Planning and Zoning Conference Room located on the second floor of the Harford County Government Administration Building located at 220 South Main Street in Bel Air, on December 9, 2010 beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The focus of the event will be a discussion on the benefits of becoming a Green Business. Guest speaker for the session will be Scott McGill, Principal/Restoration Specialist, Ecotone, Inc. The topic of Mr. McGill’s presentation will be “Ecotone’s Green Journey” – what it has done for the company’s bottom line.
The Harford County Green Business Network (HCGBN) recognizes businesses who demonstrate a commitment to sustainability through the promotion of energy efficiency, resource management or environmental stewardship. The HCGBN will showcase these sustainability practices not only with customers, but with other businesses in Harford County as well.
The HCGBN combines two of County Executive David R. Craig’s initiatives: Economic Opportunity and Environmental Stewardship to recognize businesses within Harford County that strive to intertwine sustainability within their business model.
Following lunch, there will be vendor presentation focusing on increasing energy efficiency, lighting products and programs. Among the scheduled vendor presentations are Katy Watson, iDem, LLC, Chris Hadfield, Del Electric/BGE Smart Energy and John Roberts, ICF International.
