Is the temperature of the food all they check?
BelAirBob says
Why are these published every month? They’re not really useful
Doug says
Frankly I appreciate knowing which restaurants are potentially serving contaminated food. Proper food storage and preperation is the single most important function of any restaurant.
JR says
However, if the inspectors walked in while something was sitting out waiting for it to be served (ie- for only a minute or two) they write that up. How useful is THAT? It is not!! The inspectors are apparently a WASTE OF TAX money if THAT is all they can find! I have worked in restaurants and work in schools as a teacher. I KNOW there is a LOT more going on than that…as well should all of you! These inspectors and reports are PATHETIC!
Mojo says
Me too! There were a lot of schools on this new list. I am surprised Fallston High School wasn’t on the list. My kids are always saying how they re-heat food from the day before or food is cold, better yet how kids will have it on their tray, change their minds at check out and the lunch staff puts it back to resell! Gross!
Jean Garrison says
SO FAR I HAVE NOT BEEN SICK FROM EATING OUT BUT I DON’T EAT OUT MUCH. MAYBE THE INSPECTORS SHOULD ALSO CHECK FOR ROACHES AND OTHER THINGS. HOPEFULLY THEY DO.
Julie says
I seem to recall in the past that there was one or 2 places that had contaminated food on this list. I, for one, would like to keep seeing these in case one of those entries pops up again.
DandT's-Dad says
I worked in food service for 18 years as a chef & manager. These food Inspections are common & are very thorough. In fact, Harford Co’s Health Dept is one of the toughest. The Inspections usually cover a variety of items, but food temps are incredibly important. That being said, you can see how common it is to miss the mark, but that failure could represent 1 degree. It’s all a bit misleading & provocative. I’d be more concerned about what you don’t see reported or inspected on any given Friday night at any restaurant. Better yet, have a health inspector come to your home & inspect your good service facilities.

think about what your kids are eating… ew!
