From Benny Walker:
Dear Editor:
Regarding job growth in Maryland, it seems to me that Governor Martin O’Malley’s plan is to keep his fingers crossed and hope that federal money keeps flowing into the state. The strategy has worked before, because Maryland is home to federal agencies and installations that have kept the funding spigot open wide. It has also allowed O’Malley and other demagogues to engage in class warfare and rail against “the rich” and “big corporations,” because the feds will always keep Maryland afloat – right? Wrong. The federal gravy train is slowing down. And the effect that a reduction in federal spending will have on our state will be jarring. Just as Maryland benefits more from federal funding than other states, we will suffer the most when spending is cut. Then what? Governor Bob Ehrlich has always understood that sustainable prosperity is based on low taxes and a regulatory environment that welcomes, rather than demonizes, employers and entrepreneurs. He understands that “the rich” sign workers’ paychecks. He knows that business is not the enemy; and that a growing business hires people, invests in the local economy and pays taxes. Maryland needs a governor like Bob Ehrlich, who won’t have to move up the learning curve when the looming federal cutbacks become reality.

From Rich Gallippi:
Dear Editor:
In reference to the Governor’s race, no matter what party you belong to, no matter if you’re a student, a worker, an employer, retired, or unemployed, we should all agree on one thing. Martin O’Malley is a main pillar in the power structure that has failed us completely in Maryland. He will continue to raise taxes, and that will kill revenue, prevent job growth and stifle our chances for renewed prosperity, We must unit on this.

I agree with both writers endorsing Bob Ehrlich for Governor. O’Malley was bailed out this time by Obama (using our tax dollars – tax dollars the Country did not have). But what is going to happen in the future when the tax bailouts dry up. That’s when you will see O’Malley, with a sad face, looking down (he does not want to look the tax payer in the eye) and starts with the infamous “We have to make some tough decisions” and “people have to pay their fair share.” Keep in mind that O’Malley is looking at you and telling you that you have to come up with more of your money to bail out his government. This is while he, Mike Miller, and Michael Bush work in lavish surroundings, patting each other on the back and saying,
“Don’t worry, be happy. We’ll raise taxes early and by the time the next election comes around, most Marylanders will forget about it. You guys will be voted back in while I conclude my Governorship and collect my state pension for the rest of my life.”
Keep in mind that 40% of Americans do not pay taxes. Of course these types will vote for the likes of O’Malley and Obama (and democrats in general) because they benefit the most. Just look at the jurisdictions that vote largely for these democrats in this state. By the way, how is that hope and change working for you?
O’Malley uses your tax dollars to help “New Americans” as he puts it. He is pandering to the Hispanics (for votes) that make up most of the illegals coming into this country, but seeking sanctuary in this state. These are not “New Americans.” New Americans are those who enter the country legally and earn their citizenship. But according to O’Malley, obeying the law is not an issue when it comes to illegal immigration; but try not paying your taxes and his crowd is all over you.
ONCE AGAIN, IF YOU WORK TO MAKE ENDS MEET, BUT DON’T MIND GIVING UP MORE OF YOUR MONEY TO THE GOVERNMENT, THEN VOTE FOR O’MALLY AND THE REST OF THE GANG OF MISFITS (DEMOCRATS).
Rob in Belair why don’t you quit beating around the bush with your coded language, man up and say what is clearly trying to flow from your finger tips. “These” types, “those”. Why don’t you tell us about the jurisdictions that vote largerly for “these” democrats in this state. Break the demographics down for all of us to understand. Why don’t you tell us about “those” affluent Montgomery County residents who will overwhelmingly vote to keep O’Malley in his current position and he will beat Bob Ehrlich.
Stop blaming the blacks “those” and hispanics “these” for your electoral problems. Take solace in knowing that some tea baggers will pick up seats in the House and Senate and the GOP may once again be in charge on Nov 3rd minus one witch from Delaware.
In regard to those “affluent Montgomery County residents”, let’s keep in mind there are two types of affluence: private sector affluence and public sector affluence.
The former is when you earn a decent living by virtue of your own hard work and investment.
The latter is when you “earn” a decent living because you were fortunate enough to secure a government job whose pay and benefits are grossly out of line with the value you actually provide society. Or when you work in the private sector but have the political pull to steer government contracts your way.
I wonder how many of Owe’Malley’s MoCo supporters fall into each category…
In regards to your question I wonder how many of Owe’Malley’s MoCo supporters fall into each category? I will bet you $1 the numbers are comparable to those in Harford County who support Ehrlich.
Nice post Jac
Yeah, we need a governor like Ehrlich, like we need a frontal lobotomy and a gasoline enema. Everyone in MD will suffer if Generalisimo Ehrlich is elected. If you have children in public schools or college, remember, Mr. Ehrlich has promised to cut funding and raise tuition.
I think you need to know Ehrlich just a bit more.. 4 years ago i was working and saving for vacations. Now i’m unemployed worried about a roof over my head and food on the table for my family. O’malley lost more than 3000 business’ since his ’08 tax heist of the century when he imposed an 8.5% corporate tax on our business’s. $8.50 per $100 gross they make. Our business’s can’t do it. O’malley also had the highest utility hikes in the nation. 72% hike the past 15 months and another hike this month. He also allows Estimated $2billion tax $$ go to illegal aliens in this state because of their welfare that they get with little or no id and their “babies for profit” scams, yet they take our jobs, drive our roads and can’t read the signs and they vote. They got the priviledge of voting when omalley let at least 500k illegal aliens to get a md drivers license using limited ids or fake ones.. Its a bribe for their democrat votes
check out Ehrlich before you vote !! HE HAS DONE SOME GREAT THINGS FOR OUR STATE AND WE Were working!!

I thought you don’t work because of your automobile accedent with illegal aliens?
I don’t have to work like you do stalking people and having a blast at humiliating yourself. You know the ole saying? What goes around comes around? I’m sure you do!!
you could never keep up with me or know all my alias’ like the ones you have. Your just too slow and your too jealous because i’m active and your a nothing!!
Well then…..go out and get a job McDonald’s is hiring!
seems like we’ve suffered a lot more since o’malley. Highest taxes in the country. High unemployment because illegals are working thanks the the thief in office..
Rob in Bel Air,
It seems contradictory that you write this know even though you support Jesse Bane wasting our tax dollars. I must say though that I’m happy to see that you support Ehrlich.
Who could have guessed that the teacher bitching about pay would also be an O’Malley supporter?
Who could have guessed that he would also not realize that “education at any cost” is not a solution?
The truth of the matter is that we have a one-party state. We need a governor who will veto tax hikes, and Ehrlich is that guy.
Not sure I’m correct … but I seem to recall that in the early years of American Government the loser of the general election became Vice President? To prevent the potential abuse of power a largely one-sided party legislature could use to completely control it???
Appluase. Applause. Applause. 100% RIGHT!
yea, more Ehrlich!!! NOT .. After voting for him once he wouldn’t get my vote to watch a port-o pot. Spent Billions for the ICC instead of fixing existing roads , gutted environmental laws , encouraged more developmnets and then states that if business have lower taxes they will hire more people and pay them better, and he actually believes that.
And as for public sector workers, there are always a few lazy workers who stink up a bunch, however, there are those that happen to work hard to support not only the US Soldier , but the ones who support research for drugs , plant and crop science and food safety.
Then there are the private sector people who sit on the Boards or up in management who worry about their bonus and the dividend they can post and not how it will affect the worker at the bottom or the general public; but then those are the Ehrlich backers who sit in those high paying jobs…
I noticed something about former student in your name. You aren’t able to learn too good are you? It’s ok, we’ll fund your life of care, rehab, and goverment holidays too. What are you smoking?
Thank you , I appriciate that, but I would be too busy putting my high school , college and additional education to work supporting myself and paying taxes to enjoy much of it. I would like to also enjoy your offer of health care , as the company I work for thinks so much of it’s employees that we pay 100% of the cost. But wait..there’s more…. Since I would not need to take you up on your offer of rehab, ( my parents actually did have rules and enforcement of them, by force if needed), maybe you could use it to try to clear up the Bobby Ehrlichitis adiction you have.
