A Harford County Public School bus carrying six students was involved in a three-car accident Friday morning on Route 155 west of Canvasback Drive in Havre de Grace. All six students aboard the bus were hospitalized and seen by a car accident doctor.
An Audi passenger vehicle was westbound on Level Road toward I-95 when it crossed the double yellow line and struck the school bus, containing a driver and six students en route to Meadowvale Elementary, which was eastbound on Level Road, according to the local dui lawyer who then explained how to file your truck crash lawsuit for those truck divers present.
The bus lost control and spun across the double line into the Audi’s lane, striking an SUV traveling behind the sedan and winding up on its right side in the westbound lane, Worrell said.
All six students on the bus and its driver were transported to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center with minor injuries. The sole occupant of the Audi also sustained minor injuries.
According to a leading attorney on accidentes Miami on the scene “The driver of the SUV was transported by ground to University of Maryland Medical Center Shock Trauma and was in the operating room as of 12:30 p.m.” Further details of the driver’s condition, and the person’s identity, were not known as of 4:30 p.m.
No drugs or alcohol were believed to have played a role in the accident, as per the chp accident report. However, the parents of the students contacted a car accident lawyer for guidance and to help in the investigation.
“The Harford County agencies that responded to the accident this morning worked together seamlessly in providing a safe bus evacuation for our students and bus driver. We are grateful for their partnership and for the good Samaritan acts of several HCPS facilities employees, they got more info on the car accident lawyer in California and got us a good lawyer and a paraeducator who were in the area that came to aid of the driver,” said Teri Kranefeld, manager of communications for Harford County Public Schools.
Route 155 in Havre de Grace was reopened at 1 p.m. Friday.
UPDATE (8:30 p.m.) from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
Serious School Bus Accident in Havre de Grace, MD
(Havre de Grace, MD – September 24, 2010) On Friday, September 24, 2010 at approximately 8:12am, Harford County Emergency Operation Center received a call regarding an accident with injuries that occurred moments earlier on Level Road, a quarter mile west of Canvasback Drive, in Havre de Grace, MD. The accident involved three vehicles:
A 2006 Audi A6 driven by Carol Allen, age 57, of Havre de Grace, MD
A 1998 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Edward Folderauer, age 55, of Forest Hill, MD
Harford County Public School Bus # 611 which was transporting six students to Meadowvale Elementary School was driven by Thomas Knight, age 61, of Havre de Grace, MD. Mr. Knight works for BAMC Student Transportation of Bel Air, MD.All victims at the scene experienced minor injuries except the driver of the 1998 Chevy Trailblazer, who was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma by ambulance. Trooper 1 was unable to respond due to heavy fog. As of 7:00 pm this evening, Mr. Folderauer, the driver of the Chevy Trailblazer was listed to be in critical condition. All others that sustained injuries during the accident were transported to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for treatment.
From the time of the accident to approximately 1:00 pm, traffic was detoured while a section of Level Road/SR 155 (from Bulle Rock Parkway to Canvasback Drive) was closed so that emergency personnel could render assistance and law enforcement could investigate the accident. Public Safety organizations on scene rendering assistance included Havre de Grace Ambulance, Susquehanna Hose Company, Level Volunteer Fire Department, Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Department, Havre de Grace Police Department and Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
At this time, all physical evidence indicates that the accident occurred when the driver of the Audi A6, who was traveling west on Level Road towards I-95 crossed the center double yellow line striking Harford County School Bus # 611, thus beginning the chain of events. After being struck by the Audi A6, the school bus, which was traveling east on Level Road towards Meadowvale Elementary School, spun into the west bound lane of Level Road striking the 1998 Chevy Trailblazer, who it appears had pulled off to the westbound shoulder of Level Road. The school bus then tipped over onto its right side (passenger) landing in a grassy area just off the westbound shoulder of the road. If you get in to a car accident, you might be tempted to simply accept whatever the insurance company offers you, and go on your way. Learn more from this car accidents lawyer at this website.
The accident investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending against the driver of the Audi A6.

We need to remind ourselves to slow down and be aware of our surroundings. Drivers, kids are back in school. Their is no need to speed on our rural road-ways. Lets do the speed limit and be responsible for what is in front of us. If we do this, accidents are less likely to happen.
fog says
look the Fog this morning was so bad that i could not see ten feet ahead of me, the school system should have delayed school. come on this is what happens when you push things to the limit, i think that the low visability had a major factor in this
Cdev says
Not sure about HDG but the fog was a non issue down south. Additionally if it is that foggy people should be driving CAREFULLY!

The school is MEADOWVALE not Meadowbrook.

I KNOW I GO TO MEADOWVALE MY BFF WAS IN THE CRASHHHH

hopefully everyone involved is ok, whatever the cause of this accident is, drivers need to be alert and be careful, this could have been alot worse, i think the schools need to evaluate certain weather conditions before they put a bus on the road

Don’t blame the weather – the fog burned off by the time of the accident. Even if it hadn’t that is more reason for the SUV driver to be paying attention. Don’t blame the school – if they did delay an opening you’d be pissed about that too.
Driver’s are awful now, texting, on the phone, simply not paying attention (and using that as the excuse sometimes!?!) I’m sorry the person driving the SUV died that is so sad and horrible for their family and I know what they will go through.
The amount of times I’ve had “near misses” by people “not paying attention” is so scary. Speeding has taken on a new meaning now too and impatience is increasing at deadly rates..
When people renew their driver’s license they should take a road test – many would fail and either learn to take it seriously or stay off the road – either way is a win for safety.
Sarah says
Actually it was quite foggy in that area at the time. As we drove towards Bel Air it cleared up a lot, but visibility at least in HdG was horrible.
idiots galore says
the SUV was an innocent bystander. in fact, it pulled off to the side of the road when saw that the audi hit the bus. it was not involved in the initial accident. i can only assume you are from cecil county?
Henry says
Considering the Audi crossed the double yellow line and hit the bus which spun around and hit the SUV (which was pulled over to the side of the road) I don’t know how you can blame the driver of the SUV for not paying attention…
kbsr says
just wanted to inform you that the driver of the suv ed folderauer was not the cause of this accident in no way shape or form.the person in the audi a6 was the cause and should be punished as mr folderauer is dead now
gb11 says
You can’t blame the weather for a driver crossing the center line.
Cdev says
Correct you blame the driver!
weather says
listen i dont know what the blame was but fog was bad period. try driving your vehicle in a steam bath
gb11 says
The fog is always worse in HDG – I drive there everyday. However, if the driver had been driving carefully, this may not had happened.

All of these opinions but not one request for prayer for all those involved in this horrific accident. I’m so thankful to God that my son and 3 little grandchildren overslept and our little ones missed that bus. I ask you all to pray for the individual who was killed, his grieving family, and those injured in the crash.
HdGer says
I left Meadowvale Elem School at 7:55 am yesterday. I was heading up Rt 155 to enter Rt 95. I must have missed the accident by minutes. The fog was so thick, all I could think of was how irresponsible it was not to delay school. Visibility was nonexistant.

Just so all of you know Mr. Folderauer has not pass and please dont post something like this when you are not 100% sure. This is sad enoght to deal with but then to read the lies and all it is just not right. If you want to post something how about kids love your parents and for all to treat each other as you want to be treated. That is something that has truth to it. For all that have prays to give Mr. Folderauer will take as many as you can pray. He will have a very long road ahead of him but with prays this can heal himif we all do this. Thanks,PSFOLDERAUER

We were praying so hard that the victims of this awful accident would be ok. SO glad to hear that all are going make it. We will certainly pray for Mr Folderour’s recovery. Remember though, it only takes a second to make a mistake, and the person that hit the bus is going to have to live with this. It’s likely that that person was just a person, not a cold, calculating criminal. I suspect this driver is going to feel really terrible about the injuries to all involved and the fear that will go with the victims every time they are on the road for a long time to come. Let’s pray for ALL of them, and also that we never take our eyes off the road. It could be anyone, anytime.
Katie says
I also go to Meadowvale and my best friend was on the bus during the crash and she already had arm problems since she was born

My first grandchild started kindergarten this year..big fear was the school bus…no belts. These kids cannot leave the hospital when they are born without proper retraints…families spend hundreds of $$$ so all vehicles have the appropriate seats. This is mandated in personal vehicles!!! How can school buses be exempt??

school response says
Did anyone watch the Board of Education meeting on cable last night? The mother of one of the children who was on the school bus gave great praise to the school system personnel that responded to the accident scene and the many contacts out of concern for how the children were doing in the days afterward. School Superintendent Tomback was not as fortunate. He got a real ear full about him not personally contacting any of the families to check on their well being. She was really upset.
I watch the BOE meetings regularly and this is not the first time Mr. Tomback has been called on the carpet by a citizen. I wonder if he really gets it, if you know what I mean?
Common Sense says
Just so you know, Mr. Folderauer died on 2/16 from his injuries and his funeral is today. Please pray for his family.
