Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding–$200
To support riders with special needs receiving therapeutic riding lessons
Faith Communities & Civic Agencies United–$500
For motel-bed nights for individuals who are homeless and are unable to utilize the emergency shelter
Family and Children’s Services of Central Maryland (Harford County)–$350
For professional training for therapists working in the trauma-based treatment center
Greater Edgewood Education Foundation–$400
For support of a residential youth leadership academy
Harford Habitat for Humanity–$500
To purchase a 5,000-watt generator
The Homecoming Project–$400
For urinalysis kits for use by Homecoming Project clients
The Sharing Table–$500
To supplement the purchase of food for grocery bag distribution
Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation – Cancer LifeNET CLIMB Program–$200
For recreational activities to assist children coping with a family member’s diagnosis of cancer
Youth-Led Mini-Grant to Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County–$500
To support community clean-up project at Aberdeen Boys & Girls Clubs
From the Ann K. Gaumond Fund: Y of Central Maryland – Walter and Betty Ward Family Center Y–$500
For equipment and transportation for youth from the Windsor Valley Community in Edgewood
From the Ann K. Gaumond Fund: Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County–
$500
To establish ImageMakers, a digital photography program for youth ages 6-18
From Sadie’s Fund: The Humane Society of Harford County–$300
To assist with costs associated with the care of cats taken in by The Humane Society
“Mini-grants are used by nonprofits in our county for specific projects that help improve the quality of life in our community,” said Tamara W. Zavislan, executive director. “Mini-grants are made possible through community foundation donor funds and unrestricted gifts to the foundation. Being able to impact the community positively in targeted ways through these grants is a priority for Community Foundation of Harford County.”
Community Foundation of Harford County (CFHC) is a nonprofit organization supported by the community through donations, enabling individuals, families and businesses to leave a legacy to benefit the causes about which they care. Charitable gifts are used to make Harford County stronger through grant-making to local nonprofits and through scholarships.
