From Harford County government:
Three local Harford County organizations recently received donations raised from the 6th Annual Taste of Harford event which was held in June. The Taste of Harford was held in cooperation with Harford United Charities, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial support to local organizations.
Organizations receiving support from the Taste of Harford event were Harford County Public Library, the Boys and Girls Club of Harford County and Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding. Each of the organizations received $10,955 to support their mission.
“I am pleased the Taste of Harford event in cooperation with Harford United Charities contributed to the future success of the Harford County Public Library Summer Reading Program, the Boys and Girls Club of Harford County and the Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding with proceeds from this year’s event,” Harford County Executive David R. Craig stated. “This is a great way for Harford United Charities to demonstrate its continuing support to our community,” County Executive Craig remarked.
This year the Taste of Harford was held at the Residence Club at Bulle Rock on June 9. Approximately 25 restaurants, wineries, food growers and chocalatiers served up the finest fare for the attendees.
During the past five years, the Taste of Harford welcomed the McDonald’s LPGA Championship to Harford County. Proceeds from the event benefitted the Ronald McDonald House as well as local children’s charities. As a result of the departure of the golf tournament from the area, the Taste of Harford is now an official venue of Harford United Charities, Inc. and will carry on the tradition of supporting children’s charities in Harford County.
