The award will be presented by Smith to Craig Monday, July 12 at 1:00 pm in the Harford County Government Administrative Office’s Second Floor Conference Room, 220 South Main Street Bel Air, Maryland 21014.
This year’s Maryland Half Marathon was held on May 23, 2010 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. The first Maryland resident to cross the finish line wins the cup for their respective county. This year the cup was won by Matt Klaschus of Street. (He is not able to attend this event.) The County Cup will reside in Harford County for the next year. The 2010 Maryland Half Marathon raised $200,000 for the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center. Co-chairs of the event are Michael Greenebaum (son of Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum) and Jon Sevel. This was the second year for the race. The winner last year hailed from Baltimore County, which is why Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith is in possession of the County Cup.
