ManTech International Corporation (NASDAQ:MANT) (www.mantech.com), a leading provider of technical and engineering services and solutions vital to the nation’s interest and security, is holding a groundbreaking ceremony this afternoon at the construction site of its new location at 4696 Millennium Drive at the Water’s Edge Corporate Campus in Belcamp, Md., near the U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Ground. The project is led by construction company Manekin LLC, in conjunction with Alex Brown Realty, Inc.
“We are extremely pleased to expand our local presence by making a substantial investment in Maryland, adding to our more than 9,000 employees worldwide.”
State and local dignitaries scheduled to attend include Honorable C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, U.S. House of Representatives, Maryland’s 2nd District; David R. Craig, Harford County Executive; James C. Richardson, Director, Harford County Office of Economic Development; and J. Thomas Sadowski, President and CEO, Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore.
The new facility will accommodate ManTech’s growing Maryland workforce. The company currently has more than 700 employees in Maryland supporting a number of federal government and U.S. military organizations. When the building opens in March 2011, ManTech will occupy 63,000 square feet of the 125,000-square-foot space. ManTech expects to have 300 to 500 technology jobs at the location in the next three years.
Honorable C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, U.S. House of Representatives, Maryland’s 2nd District, said, “Jobs are the gasoline that powers our nation’s economy. Harford County Executive David R. Craig said, “Harford County is pleased to see the significant expansion of ManTech’s corporate presence at the Water’s Edge Campus. An increased presence in the Aberdeen area will provide ManTech with ready access to an elite technology workforce, as well as close proximity to its customers within the federal government community.”
