From the office of Del. J.B. Jennings:
On May 20th, 2010, Governor Martin O’Malley signed into law House Bill 1323, entitled: The Civil Air Patrol Leave Act of 2010. This bill, sponsored by Delegate J.B. Jennings, establishes a leave policy for members serving in the Air National Guard in the event they are called up to serve their Country.
As an E3 Airman first class serving in the Air National Guard, Delegate Jennings drafted the legislation and was the chief sponsor of the bill along with several other delegates.
Upon receiving notification from the Governor’s office regarding his bill, Delegate Jennings stated, “I am very pleased to see this bill become law. I believe the men and women in the Air National Guard deserve to have the same leave policies enacted as you would find in any other branch of service.”
Delegate Jennings currently serves as a delegate representing the 7th Legislative district along with fellow colleagues Pat McDonough and Rick Impallaria, and State Senator Andrew Harris.

Does this law change any of the federal laws that are enacted? Seems to be the law duplicates something that is already in law.
Michael Stanclift, SM, CAP says
Wait, the bill is for Civil Air Patrol members, or Air National Guard members? My understanding is ANG members already have protection but this benefit was extended to CAP members via state law.
