Harford to Commence Enforcement of 2009 International Building Code and Residential Code

From Harford County government:

Effective July 1, 2010, provisions contained within the Harford County Code, Chapter 82, Article I and Article II will be replaced with provisions of the Maryland Building Performance Standards, with adoption of the 2009 International Building Code and the 2009 International Residential Code, as the building construction codes for Harford County.

Additionally, local amendments to the 2009 IBC, IRC and IMC are not expected tobegin before November 2010. Thus, after July 1, 2010 and until local amendments are legislatively adopted by Harford County, the Maryland Building Performance Standards asadopted by COMAR 05.02.07, International Building Code and 2009 International Residential Code, as well as the 2006 International Mechanical Code with local amendments will be enforced by the Harford County Department of Inspections, Licenses and Permits.
