From the office of Del. J.B. Jennings:
Robert L. Ehrlich announced his endorsement of Delegate J.B. Jennings’s candidacy for State Senate in Maryland’s Legislative District 7 today. J.B. Jennings will be running on the Ehrlich slate in District 7, along-side incumbent Delegates Rick Impallaria and Pat McDonough, who running for re-election.
The seat is being vacated by Senator Andy Harris’ run for Congress in the 1st District. Former Governor Ehrlich, the House of Delegate incumbents in District 7, and district voters from Baltimore and Harford Counties are putting their support behind Delegate Jennings, confident that he will continue the efforts initiated by Senator Harris. “It’s not easy to fill Andy Harris’ shoes,” said J.B. Jennings, “but Republican leaders and voters have urged me to run because they believe that I am the right candidate to correct the failed policies and legislation enacted by the O’Malley administration.”
Despite entering office with a 1.4 billion dollar surplus, Governor Martin O’Malley led the State of Maryland into a free-fall plunge that resulted in a 2 billion dollar deficit. In his endorsement, former Governor Bob Ehrlich said that J.B Jennings “is uniquely qualified to help me lower taxes, create jobs, and reign in government spending in Annapolis. He helped me defeat $7.5 billion in tax increases during my first term asgovernor and I need his leadership to prevent another massive tax increase next year.”
As a State Delegate, J.B. Jennings demonstrated his commitment to his constituency by maintaining a 100% attendance record, never missing a vote while in office. He has continuously supported and sponsored legislation to strengthen Maryland’s economy, and staunchly opposed tax hikes. In the most recent General Assembly session, J.B. Jennings proposed legislation to revert Maryland’s Sales Tax from 6% to 5%.
J.B. Jennings stands behind his strong record of constituent service, his votes that reflect the concerns and positions of voters in the district, and his ability to be a voice for District 7. As Governor Ehrlich’s endorsement states, “I am pleased to endorse J.B. Jennings for Maryland State Senate. A vote for J.B. is a vote for proven leadership.”

Ehrlich, just lost my vote..Why on the world would he get involved in a state senate race..Al Redmer’s folks should remember this and skip Ehrlich in the Fall..

Almost had my vote Jennings, but then all you had to come up with as a start was the blame game, no ideas. on the good side, maybe we can get rid of that idiot Impallaria. Better luck next time….
Jeff says
Way to go Ehrlich! Al Redmer is a FAR better choice for that seat and you pick the laziest legislator possible. What’s next? Support for Ryan Nawrocki?
LarryB says
Jeff,
I hate to tell you this but Ehrlich not only endorsed Ryan Nawrocki, he introduced Nawrocki at the kid’s announcement for the Balt.Co. Council. That is right, Ehrlich introduced a guy who according to public record had a DO NOT ABUSE ordered issued against him by his baby’s mother in a DOMESTIC VIOLENCE case. So when Women Against Violence gets involved Ehrlich will be the one the get abused and rightfully so.
That is much worse than taking sides on the Redmer/Jennings issue. Never mind the fact that Redmer is going to walk away with the nomination. JB is a great guy (one of the nicest in the GA), but he is tagged as a guy who just won’t get out there and campaign. At the same time, Redmer was just born to campaign. I mean he actually loves it!
If anyone cares about the Nawrocki thing, here is the detail and a link:

The “abused woman” stood next to Ryan at his announcement and said she supports him. Maybe there wasn’t abuse and there were just charges filed that anyone can file with the Justice of the Peace.
Smear tactics are so despicable, especially when they’re originating from some low-life blogger who got fired for spreading rumors.
