From Harford County government:
(Bel Air, MD) – – The Harford County Department of Public Works, Division of Water and Sewer has announced the start of the biannual flushing of fire hydrants throughout the county.
The Division of Water and Sewer is responsible for flushing 4,000 fire hydrants and began the process this week.
Flushing will occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Officials expect the project to be completed around July 1, 2010.
“There may be a temporary discoloration of water, changes in water pressure and temporary interruption of water service during this time,” stated Water and Sewer Facilities Chief Edward Kimmel. “We ask for the understanding of our customers and apologize for any inconveniences created by the flushing operation,” Kimmel remarked.
