The Bel Air Downtown Alliance Will Be Hosting Their 3rd Annual Chocolate & Wine Affaire and 9th Annual Chocolate & Candy Festival the Weekend of March 5-6, 2010
BEL AIR, MD – February 18, 2010 – It’s that time of year again in Downtown Bel Air, MD when everyone in town is anxiously awaiting the return of the annual chocolate events, hosted by the Bel Air Downtown Alliance, at the Bel Air Armory on Friday, March 5th and Saturday, March 6th. Proceeds from the events benefit the Bel Air Downtown Alliance’s mission of creating a vibrant business community and visitor friendly destination in Downtown Bel Air, MD.
The 3rd Annual Chocolate & Wine Affaire will be on Friday, March 5th, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Affaire attracts more than 150 guests of a wide adult audience from the local community and beyond. Guests will enjoy tastings and samples from many local restaurants, as well as, local chocolate makers. This year the Affaire will also be featuring wine and beer pairings, provided by Bel Air Liquors, which compliment chocolate treats. We are very excited to have MaGerk’s Pub & Grill, Pairings Bistro, Looney’s, Main Street Tower, and Buontempo Brothers as our featured restaurants this year. Moore’s Candies and Wockenfuss will be providing a wide variety of chocolate delicacies. There will also be a silent auction with a wide variety of local, chocolate, and regional gifts. Tickets are $50.00/person or $90.00/couple in advance and $55.00/person at the door.
The 9th Annual Chocolate & Candy Festival will be on Saturday, March 6th, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Each year the Festival attracts approximately 3000 individuals and families excited to spend an afternoon on Main Street tasting a wide variety of chocolate and candy treats from local favorites Moore’s Candies and Wockenfuss, as well as, regional chocolate and candy makers. This year the Festival is also featuring a Children’s Activity Area, sponsored by Point Breeze Credit Union, where the children will progress through several stations making chocolate and candy themed crafts. There will also be a “Main Street Scavenger Hunt” designed to send the Festival patrons out to our Downtown Bel Air shops and restaurants to seek their chocolate and candy treasures. Tickets are $5.00/person and children under 5 are free. Each paid attendee will receive two (2) tickets for complimentary samples from our chocolate and candy makers.
