Hmmm. I am not sure how much faith I would put in these inspections. It appears that hardly ANYONE in Harford County can operate a restaurant that properly stores food. Could it be possible that the standard for a violation is being misinterpreted. Or possibly that there is a new inspector who doesn’t understand the application of the standard.
I any event, I think the next time I come home for a visit, I will stop by a friends house to eat dinner. The restaurant situation appears dire indeed.

Could just be a case of job justification. Hard to believe all these have the same violation. Maybe the inspector needs to recalibrate their thermometor.
Having a one line violation is noramally a minor defieciency such as holding foods at propoer cold or hot temperatures. But Fuji Sushi – who I thought had great food – is now off my list of places to eat. Anytime you see 2 or three or more violations, then you can conclude eating there is a higher risk. What’s important are trends – I am going to analyze the October report.
You have to realize the hot and cold termparture thing is problematic for many restaurants – they are not permitted to thaw food – even vacuum sealed food – at room termperature (like many of us do at home). They have to thaw in the refigerator (have to check — I believe dfrosting in the microwave is acceptable too, but as you know the food does not taste as good. Chicken for example – microwave defrsoting is not uniform and many times the chicken “cooks” and discolors on the edges. hence the desire for retaraunts to improprely thaw food at room temperature. Thawing foods requires pre-planning – thinking ahead. That frozen turkey? You may need 3 or maore days in a refer to thaw that out in a refer.
Do these people know that the economy is in the tank, and they need to do all they can to COMPLY with health codes? Sort of makes a person to quit eating out…it does me.
I never eat out anymore…what really killed it for me was when I saw a cook standing outside behind the restaurant where he was working at the time, smoking a cigarette then he proceeded to pick his nose. That wasn’t the worst part my friends, let’s just say I hope his boogers were not on the menu ’cause he looked hungry! Disgusting but it happened. I went directlly inside and told the owner of the establishment what I had just witnessed, grossing her out, she kindly gave us our money back inclluding the tip. I buy all my food fresh, never frozen, make sure it’s clean before I cook it and make sure everything is cooked well done with the exception of veggies! That way I know what I’m eating, where I bought it, who cooked it, how it was cooked and how it was stored before it was cooked. No more food poisining! UGH
