Harford Republican Central Committee Seeks New Member to Replace Geppi

So, you didn’t get tapped to represent District B on the Harford County Council. Then, you were somehow passed over for that sweet superintendent spot. No worries! Here’s another opportunity to serve the public (albeit as a volunteer this time) on the Harford County Republican Central Committee.

Kidding aside, central committee members are normally elected but a new member will soon be appointed to serve out the term of Michael Geppi, who resigned his post on May 27th.

The goal of the HCRCC, according to Chairwoman Kim Wagner, is “to promote Republican principles and candidates in Harford County.”

Maybe that helps explain Geppi’s resignation – it’s a little hard to promote Republicans and run against a Republican at the same time.

Geppi told The Dagger he resigned from the HCRCC to focus on his campaign for the Maryland House of Delegates representing Bel Air/Abingdon in District 35B, a seat currently held by fellow Republican Susan McComas. McComas tells The Dagger she is definitely running again.

But the new competition for McComas may open up an opportunity for you – if you act now. The central committee plans to choose its newest member by mid-August.

The Republican Central Committee of Harford County will be considering a new member, since Mike Geppi has resigned. We hope to choose the new member by mid August. To streamline the process, the committee is requesting the following information be submitted to us by email:

1. Contact information. Name, address, phone number and email address.

2. When did you first register as a Republican? Are you currently a registered Republican in Harford County?

3. What have you done within the Republican community in the last 24 months?

4. What skills would you bring to the committee?

5. Why are you interested in this position?
