(Fallston, MD – June 17, 2009) – Harford County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Timothy Brian Huber, 51, of the 2400 block of Rochelle Drive, Fallston, MD, after a lengthy standoff.
On Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 4:24 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a vandalism in progress on Rochelle Drive. Deputies arrived at 4:31 a.m. and were unable to locate a suspect or suspect vehicle. While investigating the vandalism, deputies made contact at Huber’s residence for additional information. While in the residence Huber began to act suspicious and ran to a back bedroom. Deputies determined Huber was wanted on a Bench Warrant issued out of the District Court of Baltimore County for failing to appear in court on June 4, 2009. Deputies established that Huber had access to a handgun and failed to cooperate with the deputies’ commands to exit the bedroom. Several more attempts to communicate with Huber failed. Huber’s wife and teenage children were evacuated from the house safely and additional deputies from the Special Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were called to assist. Rochelle Drive was closed to all traffic until the incident was resolved.
After several hours of attempting to contact Huber inside the bedroom he finally surrendered at 12:27 p.m. without further incident. A loaded 357 handgun was recovered from the bedroom. Huber was then transported and released to Baltimore County for processing, there are no local charges.
