Phil McCrackin says
How can they let these places stay open? I just ate at a couple of these spots over the weekend. I takes someone to get seriously ill to stop the lazy attitude of these food establishments? Maybe if people knew what was going on the restaurants wouldnt be so busy and staff would learn.
Not from Here says
Sounds as though some restaurants need to check their thermometers. Except for Wendy’s, which sounds like I may not eat there again.
Confused says
I eat at like a lot of these restaurants. This is not cool – but what is especially worse is that there are several schools on this list. And they are feeding our children daily.
Braveheart says
Are you people for real? Thank goodness we have have beauracrats to tell us our food is too cold – haha.
You three above, remember, eat your dinner before it chills or you might get sick – give me a break.
There are plenty of quality eating establishments on that list – I’ll gladly go back to all of them.
andy says
agreed…we commit worse food safety violations in our home kitchens every day!
Phil Dirt says
So, Church Creek, Dublin, Prospect Mill, and Wm. S. James Elementary Schools are violators. I think we should build a new school on Red Pump Road and one on Schucks Road and close down these unsanitary ones.
It’s for the children.
HDGReader says
Food temperature, while important, is something that I would hardly get ruffled over. Except for Wendy’s and Hing Wah, which is out of the way for me anyway, I would have no problem eating at the other establishments (save for the schools of course).
Russ says
I’m a little surprised that the issue of food temperature is taken so lightly. It is fast becoming a serious problem. Ever eat ice cream that had not been maintained at the proper temperature? Leaving food out too long at room temperature can cause bacteria (such as Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enteriditis, Escherichia coli O157:H7, and Campylobacter) to grow to dangerous levels that can cause illness. The schools that were cited for these violations should take aggressive actions to solve the problem.
just saying!
Phil Dirt says
Note:
I did not make post #6 above, which simply restated my post #5 with an addtional line, and I have no idea why my imposter linked my name to a recipe website.
Dave says
Phil Dirt,
I’m pretty sure that’s how some spam bots work…evil of all evils…
Michael says
I had lunch yesterday at Tidewater, and considering the speedy service (not) and their general take it or leave it attitude , it doesn’t at all surprise me to see them on this list as not maintaining proper temperatures. My meal and my companion’s were room temperature when eventually delivered to the table, and the wait staff is so s-l-o-w. Not sure if that represents a significant health hazard in and of itself, but is certainly an indicator of poor processes and performance.
Phil McCrackin says
Can you believe people stiil eat at a place on this list? I guess the health dept means nothing.
Helen says
I’m convinced that it’s because most of these establishments are staffed with young people who can hardly keep their rooms clean, much less keep themselves well groomed, that so much food born illness is spread. They couldn’t care less about following the rules posted throughout the food prep areas and bathrooms, etc. I have heard from many friends who worked at burger joints, Chinese restaurants, etc. that they saw all kinds of awful pranks played on customers who ticked off the servers and cooks. (You wouldn’t want to know). I never eat out anymore. ALL OF THEM have vermin problems, ALL OF THEM!
