(Harford County, MD – May 17, 2009) -Harford County Sheriff’s deputies have obtained a warrant for Donald Donnell Brown, Jr., 30, in connection with the murder of Yamar Auntrez Martin, 26, of Wing Leaf Court in Edgewood.
On May 5, 2009 at 2:08 a.m. deputies responded for shots fired in the area of Mayberry Drive, Aberdeen, MD. Shortly after their arrival deputies were notified that the State Police were out with a vehicle that had crashed at Route 40 and Revolution Street, Havre De Grace, MD. In the back seat of the vehicle was Yamar Auntrez Martin, 26, of Wing Leaf Court in Edgewood, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Martin was transported to Shock Trauma by the Havre De Grace Ambulance Corps and died shortly after his arrival.
A witness reported hearing two male subjects arguing and then hearing multiple shots. Deputies determined multiple shots were fired from an unknown type of handgun striking Martin in the upper torso. Two parked cars in the area of the shooting were also struck.
Over the past two weeks detectives obtained information connecting Donald Donnell Brown, Jr. to the murder. Detectives are still investigating the motive for the shooting. A warrant charging Brown with 2nd degree murder, reckless endangerment, 1st degree assault, and using a handgun in the commission of a felony, was issued early this morning. Brown’s last known address is Kentucky Avenue, Baltimore, MD. At this time, a photo of Brown is not available.
