The Cecil Land Use Alliance Board has set the next CLUA meeting for Wednesday, April 22, at 7 p.m. at the Port Deposit VFW.
The VFW is located at 520 Susquehanna River Road (MD 222) about a
mile north of downtown Port Deposit. There is ample parking. The
entrance to the meeting room is on the side of the building with the
parking lot, towards the back.
A main topic of discussion will be the proposed Granite Cliffs
subdivision, a 700-home Planned Unit Development with its own water
and sewer service, to be located on the hill above the town of Port
Deposit. We hope to have many residents of Port Deposit at the
meeting and hear their views. The Granite Cliffs developer has
requested a special exception to the current zoning (Suburban
Residential) to allow the PUD. That request will be considered by
the Board of Appeals at its meeting on April 28. The Planning
Commission is not in favor of granting the exception, but the Board
of Appeals will make its own decision. Citizen input is needed.
Other topics will be the progress of the new Comprehensive Plan and
the status of CLUA’s lawsuit against the county in opposition to sale
of county sewer facilities near Elkton to the Artesian Company.
More information on all these topics can be found in the latest CLUA
newsletter, at http://cecillanduse.org/clua/Newsletter_200904.pdf .
