BEL AIR, Md.—The Harford men’s lacrosse team dropped two games last weekend as it visited defending national champion Nassau and Suffolk. The Fighting Owls (3-3) were downed, 16-3 at Suffolk on Saturday and fell 18-3 to Nassau on Sunday.
Sophomore Chad Palmer (Fallston, Md./Fallston), the reigning national player of the week, led the Owls with three points on the weekend, tallying a goal against Suffolk and adding two of the Owls’ three total goals against Nassau.
Freshman Joe Rosenkilde (Monkton, Md./North Harford) was also a multiple-point scorer for Harford as he tallied a goal and assisted on one more in the game versus Suffolk, while freshman Branden Kenny (Edgewood, Md./Edgewood) added the only other goal against Suffolk and freshman Luke Turner (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) added the final goal against Nassau.
Freshmen Miles Dance (Edgewood, Md./Joppatowne) and Jake Crenshaw (Hamilton, Md./North Harford) had the only other points for the Owls, each adding an assist in the games on Sunday and Saturday, respectively.
Freshman Bryan Burrill (Forest Hill, Md./C. Milton Wright) took on the goalie duties for Harford, and played in all but six minutes on the weekend, due to a slashing penalty he sustained in the game versus Suffolk. Sophomore Russell Harrell (Joppatowne, Md./Joppatowne) took over the keeper duties in Burrill’s absence, and made one save while allowing two goals. Burrill totaled 32 saves on the weekend, 16 in each game.
The Fighting Owls return to action on Thursday when they host Alfred State in a 1:00 p.m. matchup before welcoming Hudson Valley for a 1:00 p.m. game on Saturday.
