Chili Cook-off
Sunday January 25th 2009
Category 1 – Chili Master – $250 prize – $20 entry fee
Meet at Laurrapin Grille at12:00 PM to set up, competition begins at 1:00 PM
Chili must be prepared from scratch on premise, marinated meats, pre cut vegetables and spices will be permitted. Any style or type of chili is welcome (vegetarian, seafood, beef etc.)
You will have 3 hours to complete your chili and 30 minutes to be ready for judging, but no additional cooking will be allowed after 4:00 PM
Please bring all items needed for cooking and displaying your chili (pots, pans crock pots, chafing dishes, cooking utensils, table decorations etc.) stove tops and butane burners will be provided by Laurrapin Grille and limited amounts of utensils, pots and pans will be available but please try to bring your own.
Laurrapin Grille will provide 2 linear feet of table space for each entry, plastic spoons, 4 oz soufflé cups and napkins for the judging and public tasting.
Each contestant must provide a minimum of 6 quarts of chili.
Each contestant must provide 2 copies of your recipes for the judges, any secret ingredients need not be revealed if you wish.
Contestants will be judged on “Appearance, Texture, Taste, Following of Rules, Presentation and use of any Troegs Beer in recipe”
Category 2 – Chili Novice – $100 prize – $10 entry fee
1. Meet at Laurrapin Grille at 3:00 PM for set up, Judging will begin at 4:00 PM
2. Chili must be prepared ahead of time and be hot before judging, we recommend that you bring your chili hot for there will be no stove space available because of the Masters Competition
3. Please bring all items needed for cooking and displaying your chili (pots, pans crock pots, chafing dishes, cooking utensils, table decorations etc.) stove tops and butane burners will be provided by Laurrapin Grille and limited amounts of utensils, pots and pans will be available but please try to bring your own.

1. All contestants will be automatically entered to be judged by the public after competition judging ends
