LAPLATA, Md.—The Harford women’s basketball team won back-to-back games for the first time this season with a 66-44 win over the College of Southern Maryland club team on Wednesday night on the CSM campus.
The Fighting Owls (5-11) were behind the Hawks by three points, 29-26, at the half, but scored 40 points in the second half while holding CSM to just 15 to earn the win.
Freshman Sarah Spalt (Fallston, Md./Fallston) led the way with 21 points, on 7-for-14 shooting, 2-for-4 from behind the arc, with 16 of those points coming in the second half, and also added six steals on the night.
Sophomore Marie Fox (Edgewood, Md./Edgewood) and freshman Kiara Reeves (Aberdeen, Md./C. Milton Wright) were the only other Owl players in double-digits as they both tallied 13, with Reeves also pulling down six boards.
Kameran Evans led the Hawks in the loss with 14 points, while Chelsey Dusang and Chantal Hebron each added 12 points.
The Fighting Owls return to action on Saturday, when they host Montgomery College-Rockville for a 2:00 p.m. game at the Susquehanna Center.
