CATONSVILLE, Md.—The Harford women’s soccer team fell, 2-0, to the defending national champions CCBC-Catonsville on Tuesday night, but held the Cardinals (2-2-2, 2-1-0 MDJUCO)to just six shots the entire 90:00.
The Fighting Owls (3-3-0, 2-1-0 MDJUCO) managed 10 shots of their own and controlled the pace of the game by holding a vast advantage in time of possession, but could not find the back of the net.
Catonsville had one goal in each half, with Kara Cashen scoring in the first half and Asia Woodside in the second half.
Sophomore goalie Jessica Stumpf (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) tallied four saves on the day, while her counterpart, Lacey Bevilacqua totaled five saves in the 90:00.
Harford also held a 4-1 advantage over the Cardinals in corner kicks.
The Fighting Owls return to action when they host Howard as part of a doubleheader with the men’s team at 5:0020p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26.
